"I was unexpectedly moved by Lost & Found. Kathy Adams writing style was so soft in parts and so in your face in others, that it was very gripping. The story of Caelie growing up feeling worthless and like she didn't matter to anyone anytime anywhere was written with such compassion and emotion that I finished the book touched and even a bit sad.

I found the dynamic between Caelie and Wynne to be very compelling. I found myself thinking that Wynne should have said something or some other thing to Caelie to fix the situation but it never happened the way I thought it would. The story unfolded in some very unexpected ways!

All in all, this was a very good book. I enjoyed it from end-to-end and would recommend it to anyone looking for a deep and touching book to read." Bruce A. Sarte

"This is a very touching story that really hits home for me. The author really develops the characters and keeps the reader involved in the story and guessing what will happen next. It is a very well written book with a great storyline that keeps you interested from beginning to end. I could really feel Caelies pain suffering and felt bad for her for all she had been through. As far as Wynne, I was really rooting for him to get his confidence and get over his fear for women. This is a wonderful story and I would love to read more from this author. Highly recommended." Description

A tear jerker about Caelie grown up feeling worthless and vulnerable. The hurt and torment she had to endure as a young child had left her broken and untrusting, refusing to let anyone into her life for fear of being hurt again.

Wynne had kept a cold distant from girls. The guilt he felt during his early teenage life was so huge that it deterred him from getting emotionally attached to a girl.
Would they find the courage in them to face the ghosts of their past and learn to live again?

"Elise noticed the change in Caelie’s demeanor. What could possibly have affected her so much? Perhaps it was just anxiety of the first day at work. Whatever the cause, she decided that Wynne had to be stopped before he continued to tear the girl down. She knew well enough what Wynne was like.

“That’s enough Wynne. We need to focus on the proposal here. Our client will be here any minute now.” She glared at Wynne. That would shut him up. It always did.

Elise softened her voice a notch. “Caelie, let’s take this as your first assignment here. Show me how efficient you are. Take these papers and salvage them before we present them to the client. Wynne and I will meet with the client first but we can only stall them for thirty minutes. That’s all the time you have to clean up the proposal and get it properly bound. Look for Alex Mages. She will be your mentor throughout your stint with us and will guide you on what to do.” With a final nod of her head, Caelie was dismissed from the room, taking with her the bunch of soggy papers.

Once Caelie was out of the room, Elise turned to Wynne, giving him a reproachful look. “Do you have to be so harsh on her?”

I could not put this book down! I read it in two sittings! Being the mother of two young children, this is quite an accomplishment for me. Needless to say, I'm a little sleep deprived today!

In this story we meet Caelie, a very intelligent, beautiful, courageous, young lady starting what she hopes to be a promising career. We soon learn that her tragic past has left her with some serious self-esteem & trust issues, among other things. We also meet Wynne, a handsome, harsh and often bratty man that partially holds her future in his hands. Wynne's past also haunts him in a way that affects his current behavior & happiness (or lack thereof). The writer switches from present to past throughout the book, as she allows us to experience some of the traumatic events of their childhood. Both Caelie and Wynne are put into situations that force them to deal with the trauma of their past in order to move on with their future.

I don't know if this book is categorized as a romance or not, but it is not your typical love story. There is love and there is betrayal, but not in a romantic way. The main characters have very little physical contact at all and really don't explore their relationship in that depth, but it still had all of the excitement, tension, longing & heartbreak of a good romance. It also deals with some very heavy subjects without feeling heavy. I very much enjoyed it!

Now, for the negative - There was such an extreme amount of editing/writing errors that at times it was aggravatingly distracting. Extreme amount being about every 4th sentence! Normally, I have a tendency to edit as I read anyway, so it usually doesn't bother me to find some editing flaws, but there were too many to overlook and at times it really took away from the experience of the story. I downloaded this as a freebie, but would still be pleased had I paid a buck or so for it. More, if it weren't for all of the errors, which I feel really brings the value of the book down.

Lost and Found A Novel eBook Kathy Adams Reviews

I read this book in a day and a half. The story was ok but I would of like for the story to get the the point and advance more then it did.
I enjoyed all the twist and turns in this book.It held my interest and kept me engaged. The only downfall to the book was all the grammatical errors. Not sure who waa paid to proof read this material but they should send their check back.
First off I have never written a review of a book before and I read at least a book a day but I had to with this one. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read!!!! The storyline had me so strongly that I found myself crying in numerous places. This story is so compelling and so well written, I mean as in descriptive and captivating, not in actual grammar or spelling which was quite bad, that I could not stop reading until the end no matter how little sleep I was going to get I just had to find out how it would end! I would recommend this book to anyone who will listen. Buy this and you will not be disappointed.
The main character Calie goes through a lot within a short time of her childhood and you find that you are drawn in by this alone. Quickly, you realize that what was told in the start of the book is not all Calie has faced and you are pulled further into what happened to her along the way. It is an intense emotional journey that is well worth reading!
This was a great story idea that was completely ruined by a lack of editing. And continuity errors. How did Wilburn get Wynne's number and why would he call Wynne instead of the police when there was trouble? And why does she ask Wynne's to take her " to the countryside"? Who talks like that? And Alex was right there. Why couldn't she drive Caelie instead of arguing with Wynne's?
Trigger warning child abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual) and attempted rape.
The story was good and I would have enjoyed it very much if it had not contained so many grammatical errors. Obviously this book was not proof read at all. I almost did not continue to read past the first few pages due to the need to correct words using the wrong tense. There were many errors on every page which made reading the book a constant struggle. I know this was a free book but I prefer to not waste my time reading a book I want to make constant corrections for the author. Please have your future books proof read. Perhaps take some English lessons.
I had this book sitting in my library for rather a long time before I decided to read it. I have never liked the cover and I tend to read books which not only appeal to me synopsis-wise but cover-wise as well!
After my library exceeded the 1000 book mark, and I just couldn't decide what to read next (too many choices!), I decided to start with the "A's" and that is how I landed up reading this book when I did! Thank goodness for that! Unfortunately, I have "cover issues" as I have gathered many readers do and of course you can't please everyone. I know...do not judge a book by it's cover and that was reiterated to me with this book because it was one of the best stories I've read in a while.
It never bored me, in fact, it kept me pretty much glued from start to finish. It was written with much depth, sensitivity and insight. The story was deeply moving but not excessively so. It had a great, feel-good and satisfying ending which brought a good balance to the rest of the story.
The only downside for me, apart from the cover, was that the edition I downloaded some time ago was riddled with errors - literally on every page. Particularly with spelling and wrong tenses used - past, present and future tense were regularly used in the same paragraph and at some times even in the same sentence, and I found that very annoying and distracting.
However, the story line itself was so good that I put up with the seemingly non-existent editing of the book and was still prepared to give this book a 4-star review.
So remember, (as I was reminded) don't judge a book by it's cover! )
